"The green light" for transport projects of Yamal

In Moscow the governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitriy Kobylkin conducted important meetings. Issues of fulfillment of large infrastructural projects in the arctic region were being solved within the meetings, as the press-service of the governor of Yamal informs.

On the meeting with the minister for transport of the Russian Federation Maksim Sokolov they discussed fulfillment of activities within the memorandum about cooperation between the government of Yamal and the Ministry for transport signed last December. By the words of the minister for transport of Russia, positive dynamics is marked on development of the Northern Latitudinal Route. But he marks restrictions in financing of building of the bridge across the Ob River in the district of the towns Salekhard and Labytnangi, which is planned for 2017-2018 within the targeted program of the ministry. By the information of Maksim Sokolov, he personally conducted some negotiations with the administration of the Russian Railways, large financial structures, and interest of the partners gives hope for acceleration of the process. The minister expressed gratitude to the governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug for his personal attention to fulfillment of the infrastructural projects. The head of the arctic region informed about the current situation in transport branch. He confirms that the region is ready to start preparatory work necessary for building of the combined bridge across the Ob River already this year with own forces. As Dmitriy Kobylkin notes, the motor-road Salekhard – Nadym, which is an integral part of the Northern Latitudinal Route, and also the combined bridge across the Nadym River are being built ahead of the schedule. He expressed the wish to start fulfillment of the Northern Latitudinal Route and the main thing –building of the bridge across the Ob River as quickly as possible, in order this would happen during the period of active industrial development of the Yamal peninsula, which is taking place now. It is obvious that the point of no return was achieved on the port of Sabetta. This project will be developed. By the words of Maksim Sokolov, building of the bridge across the Ob River will open the opportunity for further development of the railroad line to Bovanenkovo, in order it will start working towards the eastern part of the Yamal peninsula – Sabetta.
