The hull of the icebreaking ship, which will work on the Arctic terminal, is being launched to water in Vyborg
On the 24th of November Vyborg Shipyard is launching to water the hull of the lead icebreaking supply vessel, which is being built on the order of the company “Gazprom Neft”.
Two such vessels are being built on the shipyard. They are designed for work on the arctic terminal in Novoportovskoye field on the Yamal peninsula. The lead vessel is being built on the newest project Aker Arc130A providing high icebreaking capability and considerable maneuverability at comparatively small draft of the ship. It is being constructed on the semisubmersible barge “Atlant”, from which the launch to water will be fulfilled, and construction of the ship will be completed on water. Representatives of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, “Gazprom Neft”, the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, providers and other partners of the shipyard will participate in the ceremony. Vyborg Shipyard is one of the largest shipbuilding companies, which built 210 ships of various purposes, 9 marine drilling platforms and 105 modules of topsides of platforms for development of oil and gas fields. The arctic oil Vorota Arktiki (Arctic Gate) terminal in Novoportovskoye field was set on water areas of the Gulf of Ob. This is a unique technical construction designed for work in extreme natural and climate conditions. The capacity of the terminal on oil offloading makes about 8 million and 500 thousand tons per year, as it is informed on the website gazprom-neft.ru. In the mode of videoconference the President of Russia Vladimir Putin gave a command to start loading a tanker with oil of Novoportovskoye field through the new terminal. The chairman of the board of “Gazprom” Aleksey Miller and the director general of “Gazprom Neft” Alexander Dyukov participated in the ceremony, dedicated to the beginning of round-year offloading of oil from Yamal through “Vorota Arktiki”.
