The innovative technology of electrical tomography of ground is inculcated in Yamal

The regional technological park "Yamal" successfully conducted testing of the innovative technology of electric tomography of ground. It was elaborated by scientists of the Institute of oil and gas geology and geophysics (named after A.A.Trofimuk) at the Siberian branch of the RAS.

According to the information given to a correspondent of IA "Sever-Press" by the deputy director of the technological park Sergey Abragimov, this method allows "looking into" 80 meters deep under the ground without drilling, at that, it gives detailed data about availability of stratal and lode ices, finds zones of technogenic flooding. A specific program that makes a 3D-model of an area was created by the results of the research. As he says, this technology is extremely significant for the region as there are difficult soils here. Use of electrical tomography in geological researches will allow decreasing amounts of drilling and time of work, and it means, will decrease expenditures. As Sergey Abragimov underlines, the scientists from Novosibirsk elaborated special equipment for this technology. European analogues of this equipment are more expensive. Construction and design, road and communal organizations, railroad builders and archeologists should become interested in this new method. The innovation has been already tested in the town Noviy Urengoy at designing of a residential area and in the town Labytnangi at house building and also on a problematic part of the road Salekhard – Aksarka. Reasons of deformation of asphalt surface were examined there. Customers of the work were satisfied with the results. In spring it is planned to present the technology on the market of engineering geological researches.
