The international tournament on extreme power sports will take place in Nadym for the first time

The 20th traditional competitions among reindeer herders for the Cup of the governor of Yamal will take place in Nadym on the 14th and 15th of March.

The tournament on extreme power sports "Iceman Arctic Strongman" will become one of the significant events of the jubilee program. Now it became international. Representatives not only from Russia but also from Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Latvia, Estonia, Uzbekistan and Belarus will compete for the title of the arctic strong man. This information is given on the website of the administration of Nadym district. The athletes will compete in lifting and pulling of a car, running with load, rotating of a carousel with people. For the first time they will test their strength and quickness in traditional kind of sport among indigenous peoples of the North – mas-wrestling. To fulfill all these tasks in extreme conditions of the Arctic the athletes should show their best qualities. For the first time, the tournament on extreme power sports took place in Nadym last year. This show attracted many inhabitants and guests of Nadym. Even some spectators were able to test their strength. The youngest participant a 22-year-old Yevgeniy Markov from Omsk won the title "Arctic Man". By the results of the tournament it will be known if sportsmen from Russia were able to improve their results and are better than their opponents from other countries.
