The Library Day is being celebrated online

On the 27th of May Russia celebrates the Library Day. The decree of the President of the country “On establishment of the All-Russian Library Day” was signed on this day 25 years ago in 1995. Now the holiday has become popular – for professionals and book lovers, for those, who are not indifferent to the eternal source of knowledge, who love books and reading.

So far, in conditions of self-isolation, books on the shelves remain without readers, and library employees are forced to celebrate the holiday without visitors, but these are all temporary difficulties, as employees of the National library of Yamal consider.

Libraries today are creative platforms that provide an opportunity for comprehensive self-development and creative growth of a person. Implementation of the federal project on creation of model municipal libraries within the national project “Culture” assists to that as well as the regional project “New library of Yamal”, thanks to which the region has already established model libraries in Salekhard and Muravlenko, in Purovsky and Tazovskiy districts.
