The media-plan of activities for the Year of Culture was created in Yamal

The plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in Ural Federal Okrug Igor Kholmanskikh conducted the videoconference with regions dedicated to issues of informational support of the Year of Culture announced within the presidential decree. Heads of ministries, departments, boards of culture of the regions, deputy governors, chief editors and heads of mass media, famous figures of culture participated in the conference.

By the words of the plenipotentiary, plans of activities for the Year of Culture were made and are fulfilled. Some events have already taken place and aroused wide public response. The acting deputy governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the chief of the apparatus of the governor of Yamal Natalia Figol tells that the media-plan of activities for the Year of Culture was elaborated in the region. Both regional and municipal mass media are participating in its fulfillment. The tasks of the media-plan are the following: to increase the level of informing of inhabitants of the region about events, to acquaint them with creative work of Yamal writers, figures of culture and art. In total, in the region it is planned to conduct about 40 large cultural projects of regional and interregional levels. Among the largest there are: the Arctic cultural forum, the yearly Easter festival, the plein-air in Yamal, the ceremony of awarding of the best employees in the branch. By the words of Natalia Figol, there are regional specifics in presentation of the Year of Culture in Yamal. The theme of protection and development of original culture and art of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North is very significant. Television programs and printing editions in native languages are produced in the region. There are permanent sections and programs about culture, traditions of tundra people in Russian-speaking mass media. Within the Year of Culture printing editions and TV companies plan to fulfill special projects dedicated to remarkable dates and events of Yamal history and culture of people of the North. Also many special projects of cultural, enlightenment and educational directions will be organized. As Natalia Figol informs, the contest of journalistic works dedicated to the Year of Culture is taking place in the region. The total prize fund in 4 nominations will make about 500 thousand rubles.
