“The Nenets beauty” brought international success to a photographer from Yamal
The winners of the third International photo contest “Russian civilization” were announced in Moscow. A photographer from Yamal Marina Longortova with the work “The Nenets beauty” was one of them. She won the first place in the category “Faces and generations”.
As Marina Longortova tells a correspondent of the news agency “Sever-Press”, she did not expect that she would be among the winners. When she received a letter from the organizers, in which they did not point, what place she had taken, she thought, perhaps, the third or the second. The contest was attended by really experienced photographers, and to take the first place and to stand next to them is honorable. A girl from the settlement Yar-Salye is on the photo.
This year about 5 thousand photographers from 32 countries, who shared 19 thousand and 500 photographs of “Russian civilization”, became the participants of the contest. The competition was held in five categories. 18 photographers from Moscow, Murmansk, Arkhangelsk, Sochi, Izhevsk, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, Salekhard, Krasnodar, Crimea and also from Tula, Moscow and Novgorod regions became the winners.
“The international photo contest proves its popularity; it is in demand in our country and abroad. I am glad that Russians, our compatriots and foreigners, who visited Russia, have a great desire to show how they see Russian civilization”, said Igor Barinov, the head of the Federal Agency for affairs of nationalities of Russia, the chairman of the jury of the photo contest.
In October about 200 best works of the international photo contest “Russian civilization” will be presented at the exhibition in GUM – the State Department Store for the first time. In addition, it will be possible to see photos by the winners in October-December in parks of the capital and in streets of the city.
