The Northern Sea Route will decrease the distance of transportations from China to Europe

The Northern Sea Route can become "the golden main waterway" and will render support to flourishing of trade of China in Europe.

This issue was discussed in China, in the town Dalian. More than 100 Chinese and foreign specialists gathered to share successful experience of two experimental trips of the ship "Yong Sheng" of the Chinese company COSCO on the Northern-Eastern arctic sea route. The participants underlined that the thirty-day ice-free season appeared in a part of the arctic water area. It makes navigation on the Northern-Eastern arctic sea route possible in summer season. More than 90 percent of the amount of trade between China and Europe is on the account of sea transportations, as it is said on the website russian.news.cn. The Northern Sea Route can considerably decrease the distance of sea transportations from China to countries of Western and Northern Europe. In the opinion of the specialists, "the golden main waterway" has prospects, but as navigation in the zone of arctic ice has its specifics, it needs further to study issues on providing safety of vessels, protection of arctic environment and other aspects.
