The project of the main museum of Yamal reached the final of the All-Russian grant contest

Veronika Mogritskaya, the senior scientific employee of the Museum-exhibition complex of Shemanovskiy reached the final of the grant contest "The changing museum in the changing world" with the archeological project "Masterpieces of the ancient Arctic".

By the information given to a correspondent of IA "Sever-Press" in the regional museum, the project suggests creating 3D-models of the most significant findings of Ust-Poluy on the basis of the technology of laser scanning. They will be placed on the open access in the Internet. It will be the first experience in Russia on creation of the virtual 3D-exhibition of archeological artifacts. In total more than 40 museum employees from 25 Russian regions participated in the contest. Names of winners will be announced in the middle of June, at the same time the jury of the contest will take a decision on the amounts of financing of each project. As we should note, the total grant fund of the contest makes 20 million rubles.
