The road of memory will bring skiers to Salekhard

The participants of the ethnographic ski expedition "The road of memory" are planning to reach Salekhard on Saturday-Sunday.

The expedition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory is taking place on the route the settlement Beryozovo, the village Tegi, the settlement Azovy, the village Ishvary, the settlement Muzhi, the settlement Shuryshkary, the settlement Katravozh and the town Salekhard.

9 tourists at the age from 15 to 19 together with the head of the expedition and two rescuers went to the expedition from Beryozovo and Igrim. In total they are to overcome more than 430 kilometers in a snowy landscape. According to the information given to a correspondent of IA "Sever-Press" by the deputy director of the youth center "Zvyozdny" Natalia Isakova, the first such expedition was organized in 1947, when the tourists went on ski from Beryozovo to Khanty-Mansiysk. 14 people went to the expedition in 1985 from Beryozovo to Saranpaul in the honor of the 40th anniversary of the Victory. They overcame 500 kilometers. This year it was decided to make a new route – "The road of memory", including populated areas of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. During stops the participants of the expedition are busy with ethnography. They organize meetings with descendants of veterans of the Great Patriotic War and labor of Yamal and Yugra, collect and systematize the received data. The action will be completed in Salekhard, where the travelers will visit the Museum-expedition complex of Ivan Shemanovskiy. All the materials of the expedition will be placed on the website of Beryozovsky district and in the group of the social network "VKontakte". The patriotic action was organized by the center "Zvyozdny" and the club "Voskhozhdenie" at support of the administration of Beryozovsky district of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug and Khanty-Mansiysk Bank.
