The scientific and practical conference "Obdoriya: history, culture, modernity" in Salekhard

The scientific and practical conference "Obdoriya: history, culture, modernity" is taking place in Salekhard in the Museum-exhibition complex of Shemanovskiy. The arctic vector of scientific search is the theme of the conference. Scientists and specialists from Salekhard, Nadym, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Novosibirsk, Tula are participating in its work.

The governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitriy Kobylkin welcomed the participants of the conference. By his words, Yamal successfully grows in strength in development of scientific and cultural cooperation, becomes the place for conducting of important Russian and international activities. The governor is sure that all issues of the scientific and practical conference are important, moreover, the Arctic is the keystone. Yamal is included to the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, the strategy of which also supposes profound study of influence of industrial development of the territory on people, environment, traditional way of life of indigenous peoples of the North. The task is to do no harm, and this is impossible without active participation and authoritative opinion of scientific specialists. By the words of Andrey Denisyuk, the director of the department on science and innovations of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the arctic themes predominate during the latest years in Yamal. To confirm importance of the issue, he presented theses of the speech of the President Vladimir Putin on the Security Council. The head of the state once again underlines significance of both military and financial presence of Russia on the territory of the Arctic, necessity to substantiate arctic frontiers of the Russian territory. And here conducting of professional scientific researches has important and priority significance, as the director of the department notes. As he reminds, the conference "Obdoriya: history, culture, modernity" takes place once in two years during already 8 years. It gives an opportunity to evaluate tendencies, changes, which take place in the scientific society busy with the Arctic. As Andrey Denisyuk notes, scientific infrastructure and the number of young scientists grow in the region. Interest to the Arctic from the side of colleagues from different regions of Russia does not become smaller. The program of the conference includes the plenary sitting, the sections "Historical and social researches", "Medical and biological researches" and "Archeological and ethnographic researches".
