The series will be filmed on fairy tales and legends of indigenous peoples of the North
The mini-series on fairy tales and legends of indigenous peoples of the North will be filmed in Russia in 2020-2021. Filming will take place in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra and Tyumen Oblast. It will be the first project of that type in Russia. The author Tatyana Maksimenko gave the information to TASS.
“The project is called “The land of legends”. It is planned to make the series based on 15 fairy tales and legends of indigenous peoples of the North. It is scheduled to begin filming in autumn of 2020 and to complete in 2021, since fairy tales are tied to seasons - winter, spring and summer. Also the work includes processing, preparation and technical nuances, therefore, the premiere of the first episodes is planned for the end of 2021. In such form this is the first project of that type in Russia”, said Tatyana Maksimenko.
According to her, it is planned to make in total 15 episodes with the duration about 13 minutes. Each episode will have a separate story. Filming will take place on the territory of Yamal, Yugra and Tyumen Oblast in places, where representatives of indigenous peoples of the North reside, museums and ethnic nomadic camps. As a result, five episodes about each region will be filmed. The author adds that the project is educational; its purpose is to preserve and popularize culture and life of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North.
In particular, it is planned that filming will take place on the territory of the open-air ethnographic museum “Torum Maa” (Khanty-Mansiysk), the ethnic nomadic camp “Uvas mir khot” (Tyumen Oblast), the ethnic park “The nomadic camp Limbya” (Yamal). It is expected that amateur actors and representatives of northern peoples will participate in them. The audio collection of the fairy tales in their native languages with translation into Russian will also be made.
“In addition to filming, we plan to conduct work for public. We will open accounts in social networks, where we will talk about the process, will give comments on fairy tales about representatives of indigenous peoples of the North and their culture”, the author of the project explained, adding that the planned budget will make more than 3 million rubles.
The co-author of the project Viktor Bank says that it is planned to show the series on local TV channels, it will also be available online in social networks.
