In Shanghai on the joint forum of "Yedinaya Rossiya" and the Communist party of China the participants discussed issues of practical fulfillment of the statement of the leaders of the two countries about cooperation in integration of construction of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the Silk Road Economic Belt.

As it is informed on the website resfo.ru in the opinion of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, integration of the projects of the EEU and the Silk Road means reaching of the new level of partnership and creation of the common economic space on the continent. "The idea of the Silk Road Economic Belt is able to unite transport infrastructures of Russia and China. In this sphere Russia has several major projects. One of them is development of the Northern Sea Route, so-called "The Cold Silk Road". Today Russia invites China to development of this project", as the deputy chairperson of the Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on natural resources, nature management and ecology Mikhail Slipenchuk says. The Northern Sea Route is the shortest sea way between the European part of Russia and the Far East. According to calculations of experts, by 2020 the carrying capacity of this sea route could grow up to fifty million tons per year. In addition, the way along the Northern Sea Route is more secure: there is no turbulent Strait of Malacca and Somali pirates. "But we are not talking about replacement the southern route with the northern one. The talk is about their interrelation and organic supplement of each other", as Mikhail Slipenchuk added. The deputy also focused attention to the prospects of input to operation of the oil pipeline "Zapolyarye – Purpe" with the capacity of up to forty-five million tons per year. "Guaranteed growth in hydrocarbon extraction will be provided, opportunities to increase oil deliveries to Asian markets will be extended", as he said. "With consideration of the limited capacities of the pipeline "Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean" and for diversification of export routes of oil deliveries it is planned to send its part on the arctic route from waters of the Gulf of Ob. After completion of the first phase of the plant "Yamal LNG" in 2017 it is planned to organize year-round use of the Northern Sea Route. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen partner relations in the sphere of business, attracting investments to modern technologies, communications, human capital. Exactly this cooperation we offer to the Chinese partners".
