The start of "Siberian Extreme 2015"

The welcoming ceremony for the participants of the snowmobile race "Siberian Extreme – 2015" is taking place in Tarko-Salye. The action started in Noviy Urengoy.

The snowmobile race is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the Year of Defenders of the Fatherland.

Its route is going through the town Tarko-Salye, the settlements Tolka and Ratta, the village Surgutikha, the settlement Turukhansk, the towns Igarka and Dudinka, the settlements Kheta and Gaz-Salye. 29 people from Noviy Urengoy, Salekhard, Nizhnevartovsk, Nadym and Yekaterinburg are participating in the race. The participants of the extreme travel will go around cultural and historical places of Yamal. In the district of the settlement Ratta, Krasnoselkoup district, they will visit the geographical center (the centroid) of surface of the Russian state. It was calculated by Dmitriy Mendeleev in 1906. With caterpillars of snowmobiles the race will connect two railroad lines together - the 501st and 503rd lines of the railroad construction, of Salekhard and Igarka.
