The way of development of private reindeer husbandry was found in the municipality having no problems with pastures

The decision on introduction of new measures of support for private reindeer herders was taken in Krasnoselkoup district. In the beginning of the year the head of the district Yuriy Fisher entrusted his colleagues to develop the municipal program on preservation of the traditional lifestyle of indigenous peoples. He gave this information on his page in Instagram.

“Thoroughly working out the mechanism, we came to the important decision that was supported by deputies of the district parliament”, he said. – “Now representatives of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North having reindeer in their private household will receive monetary payments from the municipal budget – 3000 rubles per one reindeer. A row of conditions that include vaccinating and chipping of reindeer is foreseen for receiving of the funds. I am sure that it will be a good motivation for preservation and development of private reindeer husbandry in the district”.

According to the information given by the chief of the office on development of agro-industrial complex and affairs of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North under the district administration Raisa Ivanova to a correspondent of the news agency “Sever-Press”, there are 640 reindeer in 28 private farms in Krasnoselkoup district. Every year their owners will receive 3000 rubles per one reindeer if the conditions of vaccinating and chipping are met.
