The winners of the contest in the sphere of folklore of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North were announced in Yamal

The results of the contest for prizes in the sphere of folkloristic activity of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North were summed up in Yamal. The winners were defined in the nominations “The Soul of peoples of Yamal” and “The Family of peoples of Yamal”.

Each of them included three sub-nominations: Nenets, Khanty and Selkoup people. Thus, the expert council in the sphere of folklore of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug defined 6 winners, each of them received the monetary prize, as the press-service of the governor of Yamal informs. In the nomination “The Soul of peoples of Yamal” the winners are: Terku Serotetto from the settlement Yar-Salye, Yamalskiy district, Yemelyan Kurtyamov from the settlement Ovgort, Shuryshkarskiy district and Izolda Sorokina from the village Kazym-Mys, Shuryshkarskiy district. In the nomination “The Family of peoples of Yamal” the winners are: the family of Vyacheslav and Vera Vanuito from the settlement Yar-Salye, Yamalskiy district, the family of Ilia Rybin and Yelena Rybina from Salekhard, Nikanor and Lidia Neva from the settlement Pytlyar, Shuryshkarskiy district. Nominating of candidates for the award is fulfilled by institutions of culture and art, creative unions, public associations, executive bodies of the state power and the local self-government. “The Soul of peoples of Yamal” is a nomination with the awards for special merits on preservation, collection of samples, development and transmission to younger generation of folklore of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North reflecting ethnic identity and cultural identity of peoples. In the nomination “The Family of peoples of Yamal” the prizes are given to people of Yamal, who are in kinship, where intrapersonal relationships are created on the basis of formation, development and transmission from generation to generation of traditional family values represented in various forms of folklore.
