The Yamal Union of Reindeer Herders and Yamal-Tour will send tourists to be guests of the polar bear

The Yamal Union of Reindeer Herders concluded the agreement on mutual cooperation with the state establishment of the region “Yamal-Tour”.

Cooperation is aimed at effective development of inbound and domestic tourism with involvement of representatives of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North into this activity. This information was given to a correspondent of the news agency “Sever-Press” by the executive director of the Union Timur Akchurin. According to him, involvement of reindeer herders and reindeer-herding enterprises into the sphere of rendering of tourist services will allow providing tens of families of reindeer herders, hunters and fishermen with employment and also will provide their additional revenue, will increase the amount of taxes being allocated to budgets of all levels. As Timur Akchurin tells, the partners have ideas on development of the tourist route “To be a guest of the polar bear” with the opportunity to see the beast of prey from the Red Book with own eyes from the safe distance. As we should remind, the Yamal Union of Reindeer Herders under support of the regional department of youth policy and tourism has fulfilled the social tour for citizens of elder age, children and disabled people for the second year in a row. More than 200 people of different categories of population visited the nomadic camp of reindeer herders within the tour.
