There will not be rise in price in construction of the port of Sabetta

The constructive dialogue between representatives of business, the power and scientists about integrated development of oil and gas fields of Yamal and adjoining water areas is taking place in Salekhard. The two-day international conference "Yamal Oil and Gas 2014" started its work here.

Among the participants of the forum there are chiefs and specialists of Russian and foreign oil and gas companies, independent oil and gas extracting, processing and engineering companies, operators of the market, representatives of supervision bodies in the sphere of nature management, environmental protection. The participants are working in four sessions. In the first half of the day subsoil users scrutinized strategic directions of development of oil and gas branch of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The top-managers of the largest enterprises of fuel and energy complex presented their reports on current projects and prospects for the coming future. "Gazprom dobycha Nadym", "Gazprom dobycha Yamburg", "Gazprom dobycha Urengoy", "Severneftegazprom", "Transneft" shared their plans and innovations. Considerable interest was aroused with the session on fulfillment of the mega-project "Yamal LNG" and also the issue on building of the sea port of Sabetta. The chief of the board of construction at MRTS JSC ("Mezhregiontruboprovodstroy JSC") Ivan Makovskiy notes that building of four berths was already fulfilled, and on the conference he wants to share practical experience, to tell about problems, with which the enterprise faced. Building of such hydro-technical construction in the arctic zone of Russia was never conducted before. This is unique experience for the enterprise, and he wants to share it with the participants of the conference. Among the basic problems, with which the specialists faced on the stage of building of the port, he marks climate problems – very low temperatures, strong winds, snow storms and complicated geological conditions. All these conditions demanded for use of more powerful equipment than it had been planned in the beginning. Anyway, the basic amount of work was fulfilled, as Ivan Makovskiy underlines, actually, the port already receives ships and tens of thousands tons of cargoes. Work on infrastructure of the port is being conducted. As he adds, by the conditions of the contract, the company takes all additional financial obligations; therefore building risks will not be reflected on the cost of the project. Basic prospects and challenges of geological exploration were discussed during the third session. It is being expected that scientists of Yamal will speak on reports about necessity to conduct look-ahead expertise before the beginning of industrial development of new territories. The participants will also discuss the issue of preservation of sacred places in conditions of industrialization as the most important part of cultural legacy of indigenous peoples of the arctic region. As candidate of medical sciences Andrey Popov notes, work of each extractive field is not a one-moment act but a process enough prolonged in time. With consideration of big reserves of oil and gas Yamal will stay the energy heart of Russia during as minimum 100 years and, probably, longer. Intensive industrial development will render considerable influence on physical and socio-psychological wellbeing of indigenous population; it needs to count these risks today. In his opinion, scientific and research programs being fulfilled together with enterprises of fuel and energy complex would help scientists of Yamal to solve many tasks.
