Thirty boarding schools were prepared in Yamal for young inhabitants of tundra

Gathering of children to school for the first of September was organized in Yamal. They are transported to boarding schools by air and river transport, by all-terrain vehicles and together with parents.

Arrival of the young tundra dwellers is being expected in 30 educational institutions. 3700 schoolchildren will study there. The organized gathering will be completed on the 12th of September, as the press-service of the governor of Yamal informs. Comfortable conditions for children’s stay in boarding schools were made owing to changes to the regional legislation of Yamal. In addition to obligatory education they receive knowledge on making clothes and footgear of fur, bead weaving and bone carving. Practice on reindeer husbandry and fishery on agricultural enterprises was organized in many institutions of such kind.
