Traditional "Yakha-marathon" will take place in Noviy Urengoy

The 12th open marathon on water sports tourism "Yakha-marathon" will take place in Noviy Urengoy from the 29th to the 31st of May.

According to the information given to IA "Sever-Press" in the informational and analytical board of the town administration, the start is scheduled for the 30th of May in the district of Yubileynoye field, and the finish – on the 31st of May on the municipal beach. During two days the sportspeople will overcome the distance in 60 kilometers. Sportspeople-tourists not younger than 18 years old, who are skilled in running a tourist kayak (baidarka), having a certificate with permission from a doctor and know how to swim, are allowed to participation in the marathon. The competitions will be conducted both in personal and team rankings. Big attention will be paid to safety of the marathon participants. A rescue team of emergency response service will be on duty along the whole water route. The awarding ceremony will take place after the finish of all the participants on the 31st of May.
