Visitors of INNOPROM taste the Arctic, and the representatives of Yamal search for foreign business partners

The delegation of Yamal is working at INNOPROM exhibition in Yekaterinburg. Delicacies of fish, venison and wild plants are widely represented at the stand of the region. According to the information given by the director of the production firm “Nyda-Resource” Zhanna Gusak to a correspondent of the news agency “Sever-Press”, only a part of the products that are not perishable was brought to INNOPROM.

In particular, the company is presenting jams of wild-grown plants, drinks, sweets, dry-smoked products - sujuk, pastirma, sausages and chips of reindeer meat. Fish products - dried fish and preserves will be added on the 10th of July. According to Zhanna Gusak, the firm produces about 150 titles of products in total. Now its sale is established in Yamal, there are deliveries to Tyumen, Yekaterinburg, Perm Krai. The products are exclusive, and amounts are small, so they are sold through entrepreneurs but not large retail networks. At the present time “Nyda-Resource” does not export products but strives for this activity. Agreements with Chinese partners have already been signed, and meetings to discuss cooperation are planned on INNOPROM. In addition, there is an agreement with Uzbekistan, representatives of this country will also come to the exhibition. According to Zhanna Gusak, the enterprise has already submitted all the necessary documents to receive international certificates for its products. As the head of the board of external economic relations under the regional department of international and external economic relations Ivan Timkin says, products of Yamal agricultural industry are known not only in Russia but also abroad. The region supports several enterprises on its certification in accordance with requirements and norms of countries-importers. But this work is not easy. According to him, in order to get to the Chinese market, for example, it is necessary “to overcome the Great Wall of China”. Difficulties appear with products of animal origin. A certain product should be included into the unified catalogue according to requirements of China, an application for this is prepared by Rosselkhoznadzor, then it is considered by Chinese departments. “Six months have passed since our request, we have not received a response to a row of products”, Ivan Timkin said. According to him, this is one of the issues that are planned for discussion with the Chinese partners within the fifth China-Russia EXPO. They will start on the 10th of July as a part of INNOPROM. In addition, the representatives of Yamal will tell about economic and investment potential of the region.
