Vladimir Putin will launch offloading of oil through the Vorota Arktiki terminal on the Yamal Peninsula

On the 25th of May within the video conference the President of Russia Vladimir Putin will launch offloading of the first tanker of oil from Novoportovskoye field through the Vorota Arktiki (the Arctic Gate) terminal.

It was built to provide year-round transportation of oil by sea, including in extreme natural and climate conditions. The Chairman of the Board of “Gazprom” Aleksey Miller and the Director General of the company “Gazprom Neft” Alexander Dyukov will be present on the terminal. Novoportovskoye is one of the largest oil, gas, condensate fields being developed on the Yamal Peninsula. The extractable reserves exceed 250 million tons of oil and condensate, more than 320 milliard cubic meters of gas. It is located behind the Polar circle, far away from the transport pipeline infrastructure. Therefore, offloading by sea through Mys Kamenniy was chosen as the optimal decision for delivery of raw materials. The Vorota Arktiki (the Arctic Gate) terminal, the capacity of which allows transporting up to 8 million and 500 thousand tons of oil per year, was build purposefully for this aim on water area of the Gulf of Ob. On this day Vladimir Putin also will conduct the meeting of the Presidium of the economic council under the President dedicated to sources of growth of Russian economy in the long term till 2025, as it is informed on the portal kremlin.ru.
