Winners and prizewinners of the academic competition, teachers will receive grants from the governor of Yamal

In Yamal 35 schoolchildren became winners of the regional stage of the All-Russian academic competition, and other 50 children became prizewinners.

The All-Russian school academic competition is a prestigious contest that is held in 24 subjects. This year most often residents of Yamal chose mathematics, biology, literature, social studies and the basics of life safety.

There are winners and prizewinners in almost every municipality of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. According to the press service of the head of the region, Noyabrsk scored good results, there 22 students took prizes at the regional stage, 18 children became winners, four of them won the victory at the federal level.

“For the first time in the last seven years we have winners in mathematics in every parallel among the 9th, 10th, 11th grades. Majority of the children are participants of the intensive specialized school in mathematics”, said Victoria Popova, a chief specialist of the division of general and vocational education in the regional department of education.

A tenth-grader from Salekhard Aleksey Samoylenko is among the winners. He became interested in physics in the 9th grade, and then he tried his hand at the all-Russian school academic competition and immediately reached the regional stage. Aleksey dreams of reaching the final stage of the competition and competing for the main award: the right to enter any higher education institution in the country without examination in a specialized direction.

“I am grateful to my teacher Eduard Petrov. He guided me in preparing for the academic competition”, the student said.

The winners, prize-winners and teachers-mentors, who have trained students winning at the regional level, will receive grants from the governor of Yamal in the amount of 15 and 30 thousand rubles.
