Yamal is rich not only with hydrocarbons. Potential of the region is being presented on INNOPROM

The 9th international exhibition “INNOPROM-2018” started its work on the 9th of July in Yekaterinburg. The event received the status “federal”, it has taken place since 2010 every year. This year the Republic of Korea is the country-partner of INNOPROM.

Companies from more than 20 countries are presenting their stands with innovative products in pavilions of the international exhibition center “Yekaterinburg EXPO”. In addition, Russian regions, including Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, are presenting their achievements and potential to visitors of the exhibition. According to the information given to a correspondent of the news agency “Sever-Press” by the director of the department of international and external economic relations of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Alexander Mazharov, within the exhibition the arctic region is demonstrating products of agricultural enterprises, including reindeer husbandry. As he notes, for the present day the region set contacts not only with Europe but also with countries of Asia. The region is very interested in it. According to Alexander Mazharov, products from Yamal are in demand. In addition to venison and wild plants, the region has proposals on cooperation in full processing of reindeer. “Our task is to make products of Yamal reindeer husbandry be used 100%: not only meat but also glands of internal secretion, skins, etc. We conduct many negotiations. Participation in such exhibitions is necessary, it needs to develop the region, to show that we are rich not only with hydrocarbon raw materials, but we are interested in sale of other our products”, as the director of the department said. According to him, now the region delivers agricultural products to Germany, Finland, to the domestic market, but it is ready to supply even more. “We shall work with everyone, who shows interest in us, and we shall do everything to ensure that products are qualitative and delivered timely”, Alexander Mazharov said. Delicacies of Salekhard fish processing plant and the production enterprise “Nyda-Resource” are widely presented at the Yamal stand. There is information duplicated in Chinese language about the major investment projects of the region. Also a choum (home of reindeer herders, a tent covered with reindeer hides and similar to a tepee), a reindeer figure and moving figurines of polar bears are set on the stand. Traditionally, it attracts visitors. Also bone-carving works by the famous artist from Yamal Sergey Luginin are demonstrated in the showcase. The craftsman shows visitors of INNOPROM how masterpieces of bone-carving art are made with help of modern tools. Sergey Luginin notes that life in the North is uninterruptedly connected with cultural traditions and crafts. “I always support such events; we conduct demonstration master classes for visitors. We come with materials - with the mammoth tusk, the elk horn, equipment, it is always interesting, attracts people. At the stands of INNOPROM around we basically see industry, but our stand shows both culture and traditions of the region”, Sergey Luginin said. According to him, the representatives of China are especially interested in bone-carving art. They are very respectful of hand crafts and want to buy products. But this time the craftsman does not plan to sell his works; these are exhibition items, which he will present in August at the exhibition in Salekhard.
