Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug is the leader of industrial growth. Mineral resources made the basic contribution

The Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) registered the best dynamics of industrial production among all ten Russian subjects of Ural West-Siberian macro-region in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug: in May - plus 8.3%, for the entire period from the beginning of the year - 11.7%.

The main contribution was made by extraction of mineral resources: 15.4% in January-May of 2018 in comparison to the same period of the previous year. As we should remind, construction of the plant for liquefying of natural gas “Yamal LNG” is taking place on the territory of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug: the first stage was commissioned in the end of last year. Large-scale infrastructural objects, including the trunk gas pipeline “Bovanenkovo – Ukhta”, the trunk oil pipeline “Zapolyarye – Purpe”, the product pipeline “Purovsky Gas Condensate Processing Plant - Tobolsk-Neftekhim” and the seaport of Sabetta, are developing intensively. Sverdlovsk Oblast demonstrates high rates of industrial production in the macro-region: the index has grown since the beginning of the year - 8.5%, although in May the rate decreased up to 3.7%. Industries-locomotives are the following: production of machinery and equipment (plus 149.5% in comparison to January-May of the previous year), of motor vehicles (129.9%), woodworking (107%). According to “Expert-Ural” (http://www.acexpert.ru/o-nas/), the region also is the leader on tempos of development of agriculture: the index of production of all types of agricultural products in January - May increased on 4.7%. As for the sphere of house building, the situation is the best in Orenburg and Perm regions: the amount of housing commissioned in January - May of 2018 in comparison to the same period of the previous year almost 1.5 times increased.
