Yamal will present traditions of Khanty people in Estonia

The international events of ethno-cultural character will take place from the 11th to the 14th of April in Estonia. They are dedicated to acquaintance with culture of northern ethnic minorities.

The program includes concert performances, presentations, films, master-classes, exhibitions of traditional clothes, expositions of items of decorative and applied art, demonstration of languages and ethnographic features of northern peoples. The delegation of Yamal will be headed by a representative of the regional department of international and external economic relations Pavel Lanovoy. The trip will become a next stage of cooperation and development of cultural and humanitarian relations with foreign partners. A teacher of the district children’s school of arts from Shuryshkarskiy district Leonid Longortov will present traditional culture of Khanty people. He is a craftsman of decorative and applied art, sings and plays national instruments of Khanty people. According to the information given to a correspondent of the news agency “Sever-Press” in the regional department of international and external economic relations, participation in such events gives the opportunity to preserve and develop social traditions of Finno-Ugric peoples, to create the positive image of Yamal.
