Young ecologists from Tarko-Salye studied surrounding water reservoirs

The center for development of tourism of the town Tarko-Salye organized and conducted the bicycle expedition for its pupils around surrounding water-reservoirs. The young ecologists studied their hydrological, hydro-chemical and hydro-biological characteristics.

According to the information given in the center for development of tourism, the participants of the expedition assessed tourist potential of the water reservoirs together with their ecological state. The participants of the expedition took samples of inhabitants of the bottom – benthos, inhabitants of water – phyto- and zoo-plankton and also samples of water and bottom sediments. They took samples of water for chemical analysis to define amount of pollutants. The results of the researches will be sent to the scientific center for study of the Arctic in the town Nadym. By the results of the expedition, they will create a map of the water reservoirs with objects interesting for seeing. It will become useful for tourists.
