An online streamer from Yamal showed life of Nenets people in a choum and won the victory in the contest

A resident of Tarko-Salye won the first place in the contest of arctic live streams. Alexandra Ivchenkova showed life of Nenets people in Yamal in a choum (a nomadic dwelling similar to a tepee) and received the majority of votes in the contest of live broadcasts in social networks “Tell Russia about the Arctic”. The contest was organized by the Project Office for the Development of the Arctic (https://porarctic.ru/en/about/) and the “Odnoklassniki” social network (ok.ru).

The second place, according to the results of the audience voting, was taken by Olga Trefilova from Murmansk, who conducted a live broadcast from the competition in sports fishing on Semyonovskoye Lake. The third place went to Nadezhda Savenkova from Nenets Autonomous Okrug - she told about the settlement Iskateley.

Three winners received 50 thousand rubles each from the Project Office for the Development of the Arctic. Other 7 finalists were awarded with recognition gifts from Alexander Krutikov, the deputy minister for development of the Far East and the Arctic, who personally supported the contest. It was planned to give two special prizes, but the awards were given to all those, who made the shortlist of the finalists. Streamers from Arkhangelsk Oblast and Yakutia are also among them, as Yulia Nikitina, the public relations manager at the Project Office for the Development of the Arctic tells the news agency “Sever-Press”.

Alexander Krutikov said: “Thank you for your active participation in the contest “Tell about the Arctic”. The authors of the videos showed unique places of the Far North, told about traditions and culture of northerners. Half a million residents of Russia were able to see how beautiful and diverse the Russian Arctic is. I followed the contest closely, and to be honest, it was very difficult to choose the leaders. All the authors deserve victory and gratitude. And I made a decision. As you know, the first three places receive grants from the Project Office for the Development of the Arctic. And other seven finalists will receive 15 thousand rubles each personally from me. Congratulations, each of you is the winner today”.

Within the contest every grownup resident of the Arctic could register on a special website and tell about themselves and their hometown or village in a live broadcast, using a special app for streaming OK Live. In total, about 500 thousand people saw the live broadcasts of the contest. The contest aroused great interest among residents of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, and in this regard, the organizers are planning a new stage - approximately this summer.
