Leonid Mikhelson specified the date for the startup of the fourth line of “Yamal LNG”

It is planned to startup the fourth line of “Yamal LNG” in late 2019 - early 2020. This information was given by the head of NOVATEK Leonid Mikhelson in his answers to questions from shareholders during the annual meeting.

“Yamal LNG” is the project on liquefying of natural gas on the basis of the South Tambey field.

As we should remind, three production lines with the capacity 5 million 500 thousand each (in total - 16 million 500 thousand tonnes) have already been built within the project. The additional capacity will be almost 1 million tonnes.

According to the earlier information given in NOVATEK, resource base of the Yamal and Gydan Peninsulas allows extracting up to 140 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas per year. Availability of these resources will allow maintaining the market share of the Russian Federation at the level of 10%, and to increase this figure it is necessary to increase the portfolio of projects in extractive fields with large reserves, as it is reported in the Agency of oil and gas information.
