Masters of hospitality from 12 regions of Russia will gather together in Salekhard

The world’s only town on the Polar Circle will host the semifinal “Arctic” of the all-Russian contest “Masters of hospitality” from the 30th of September to the 2nd of October. The federal contest is aimed at revealing of abilities and skills of professionals, forming of new traditions, increasing in standards of service and prestige of professions in all areas of the hospitality industry. Yamal is hosting the tourist event of such level for the first time. The information was given to the news agency “Sever-Press” in the department of youth policy and tourism of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

Salekhard will be one of the nine venues for selection of finalists of the federal contest. Similar semifinals have already been held in Sochi, Tula, Pyatigorsk, Samara, Yalta, Ufa, and two others will be hosted by Irkutsk and Kaliningrad.

At the Edge of the Earth 50 participants from 12 regions of the country will meet to define the finalists. 28 residents of Yamal entered the semifinals, the biggest number in Ural Federal Okrug. The contestants will pass comprehensive assessment of their business and personal qualities, will solve analytical tasks and will present their tourist projects. They will participate in training events with invited experts and guests, including John Warren – a traveler and the TV host, Grant Babasyan – the president of the National Union of Hospitality Industry, Tatyana Menshikova – the curator of projects on development of tourism in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation at the Federal Agency for tourism. Within the semifinal program “Arctic” the guests of Salekhard will get acquainted with the arctic region, the capital of Yamal and its sights, culture and life of indigenous peoples of the North.

All the semifinalists of the contest “Masters of hospitality” will be able to receive support from Roscosmos for implementation of a project in the sphere of space tourism. The partner of the contest - Roscosmos State Corporation - will provide support for implementation of the best idea related to development of one of tourism types at Roscosmos enterprises or cosmodromes.

The final of the all-Russian contest “Masters of hospitality” will bring together 200 specialists of the branch. 50 people will become the winners; they will be mentored by famous restaurateurs, hoteliers, managers in the hospitality sector and representatives of state authorities, including the governor of Yamal - Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitry Artyukhov. The finalists will compete for grants for implementation of projects in special nominations from the partners of the contest, will be able to win educational certificates, to receive an invitation to practical training and work in leading tourist companies and organizations. The best projects of the contest can be implemented with support of the Federal passenger company, the Federal Agency for Tourism and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation. 25 winners will receive a certificate for a special educational program at the Moscow school of management “SKOLKOVO”.
