Quality of construction and equipment will be inspected. “Arktika” will pass the mooring tests

Specialists of the Baltiysky Zavod (the Baltic Shipyard) completed the outfitting stage of the lead icebreaker of the project 22220 “Arktika”. The mooring tests were started on the icebreaker.

Quality of the vessel’s construction, assembly and adjustment of the equipment will be checked during the tests. Preliminarily power plants and auxiliary machinery on the icebreaker will be tested under the load. Also systems and life support devices of the vessel will be checked, as the press service of “The Baltic Shipyard” informs. Now power supply from the coast is accepted on the vessel under the regular scheme. A mast with radar equipment was installed on “Arktika” before the mooring tests were started. The product was delivered to the outfitting quay of the plant with help of a floating crane. The specialists of the Baltic Shipyard, using quay cranes, installed the mast on the regular place. After its installation the icebreaker received its final dimensions in the height.
