The ecological house was designed for the Subarctic

The presentation of the ecological house for autonomic residing in conditions of the Subarctic took place in the town Revda, Sverdlovsk Oblast. Its main designer is the honored polar explorer, the head of the expedition of UNESCO Sergey Solovyov.

As ITAR-TASS informs, the modular demountable micro-house is a cell with the size 3 on 6 meters. Connecting cells, it is possible to assemble the whole settlement or, connecting them vertically, "a cell house" with several floors. It can be placed in conditions of permafrost, on a swamp, in mountains. Ecologically pure insulating materials - wood and basalt wool – will protect people from influence of extreme temperatures. The cost of one dwelling cell with minimum inside arrangement, without utilities, makes about 250 thousand rubles. According to the words of Sergey Solovyov, he assembled the first house of this kind with two helpers during 2 weeks for funds from sale of a car. Though the house designed specially for conditions of the Subarctic, it is suitable for life in extreme conditions of any climate zone. In the coming prospect, higher education institutions are ready to use "cells" for creation of compact settlements for students. Of these cells it is possible to build settlements of temporal stay with any number of micro-houses with any number of floors. Other organizations having land plots but having not enough finances for their development expressed their interest to the project. This information was given by Sergey Solovyov. Sergey Solovyov is a famous Russian traveler. In 1982-83 he participated in the expedition by dog sleds from Chukotka to Murmansk. In 2001 Sergey Solovyov participated in the round-the-world UNESCO expedition "Great Northern Trail".
