The photo-contest with monetary prizes: from the Kara Sea to southern forests of Yamal

The results of the regional photo-contest “90 moments of Yamal” are being summed up in Yamal. The contest was organized by the main museum of Yamal. In total 150 people from 35 Russian regions and far foreign countries participated in the contest. The geography of the participants is wide: from Moscow to the Republic of Kalmykia and also a representative of Germany. They sent more than 700 photographs.

Photographs taken exclusively on the territory of Yamal were received for the contest. The nominations are: “Another view” – 289, “Ethno-Yamal” – 157, “Symbols of Yamal” – 154, “Yamal Industrial” – 104. (https://vk.com/90yamal_mvk)

As it is noted in the regional museum, the contest aroused interest not only among residents of Yamal but also photographers from different regions of Russia, who decided to share their impressions of their travel to our land. Many interesting works were presented, unusual camera angles, unique natural phenomena and usual life of ordinary northerners, which is so amazing for guests of our region. In the photos it is possible to see the entire Yamal: from the Kara Sea to the southern forests of the region, a view from the sky and from the sea, rapid reindeer runs and calm life of tundra-dwellers, favorite towns and settlements, memorable places, natural resources, modern technologies, severe frosts and short but bright northern summer.

The results of the contest will be announced by the 1st of July and will be published on the website of the Museum and Exhibition complex of Shemanovskiy (https://mvk.yanao.ru/). Winners and prizewinners will receive monetary prizes: from 90 thousand rubles to 50 thousand rubles.

The photo exhibition and publication of the anniversary photo album “90 moments of Yamal” dedicated to the anniversary of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug will be organized on the materials of the contest works.
