The stationary center on Beliy Island is included to INTERACT Station Catalogue

Information about the scientific stationary center on Beliy Island is included to the renewed catalogue of research stations.

The International Network for Terrestrial Research and Monitoring in the Arctic "INTERACT" is preparing it for publication. The catalogue includes all the data about the stationary center: scientific work being conducted here, geographical position, infrastructure and logistics. There is information about plants and animals of Beliy Island, its landscape characteristics. The year-round scientific stationary center for monitoring of natural environment on Beliy Island started working last year. From the 16th of June to the 24th of August it became the base for scientific and research work of Russian scientists from the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute, Tyumen State University and Kazan Zoo Botanical Garden. Here an employee of the Salekhard branch of the board of the state veterinary supervision service studied ecological and biological factors of appearing, spreading of invasion of birds and mammals. This summer on the island the Russian scientists will continue their researches. The scientific stationary center on Beliy Island is included to the network "INTERACT" last February at assistance of the department of international and external economic relations of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. It became the second scientific object of Yamal included to this international network. The ecological scientific and research stationary center of the town Labytnangi has been included to the project since 2011. Advantage of the catalogue in so that scientists from the whole world have free access to programs of scientific researches in the Arctic and opportunities to conduct research activity on stations, as the press-service of the governor of Yamal informs.
