Citizens on the territory of the Panayevsk tundra expressed their opinion on amendments to the Basic Law. To find remote nomadic camps, representatives of the precinct election commission use help of guides, who know routes of reindeer herders. According to a representative of the precinct election commission Konstantin Laptander, during the day of helicopter flights they managed to cover about 80 tundra-dwellers with the voting.

32 soldiers of the ecological platoon of the Central Military District, who are performing tasks on cleaning of the Arctic zone on the Marresale Cape, also fell into the field of work of the precinct election commission. A few weeks ago military helicopters with equipment and personnel of ecologists flew to Yamal. They remove scrap metal that was left on the territory of an empty military unit. The metal scrap will be removed from the Cape.

A soldier of the ecological platoon of the Central Military District of the Armed Forces of Russia Roman Grekov said: “According to the plan garbage and scrap metal are being sorted now. They will be all cut up, pressed down and then shipped by sea. The waste was left from the former radar detachment disbanded in 1994”.

The ecological platoon will remove 676 tonnes of garbage on the territory of 4 hectares on the Marresale Cape. 32 military men, as well as 23 units of machinery are involved in the work.

As it should be noted, the early voting is continued on the territory of 6 municipal districts. As of the 18th of June 5853 residents of remote settlements of Yamal expressed their opinion on amendments to the Russian Constitution.
