Treasures of the North. Participants from Yamal will present unique items in Moscow

Craftspeople of decorative and applied arts from Tazovskiy will present their works at the XV exhibition-fair “Treasures of the North. Craftspeople and artists of Russia 2020”. It will be held from the 23rd to the 27th of September in Moscow.

Artists Gulnara Galko and Ilyana Ilyushina will demonstrate designer dresses with ethnic coloring and hand-painting, as the administration of Tazovskiy district reports. A craftsman of bone and antler carving Stepan Yando will show a traditional set of tools that are used by every reindeer herder. The exhibition will include thematic expositions, as well as various contests and master classes on folk crafts.

“Treasures of the North. Craftspeople and artists of Russia” is an annual exhibition and fair that brings together representatives of indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East from 25 regions of the country. Residents of Tazovskiy district have repeatedly participated in the large-scale events and returned with victories in various nominations.
