Two LNG-tankers are going from Sabetta to the Chinese port of Jiangsu Rudong

“Vladimir Rusanov” and “Eduard Toll”, the LNG-tankers of ice class Arc7, are successfully completing the trip along the Northern Sea Route in the eastern direction.

The tanker “Vladimir Rusanov” completed the trip on the Northern Sea Route and came close to the Bering Strait, “Eduard Toll” came to the Chukchi Sea and is going on open water. The tankers left the port of Sabetta with consignments of LNG manufactured on the project “Yamal LNG”. They are going to the Chinese port of Jiangsu Rudong. The ships overcame the ice part of the Northern Sea Route during 9 days independently without icebreaker support, what speaks about outstanding icebreaking characteristics of the ships, as the press-service of the company informs. “We are glad that this year the summer navigation period on the Northern Sea Route was opened by gas carriers with cargoes of our project. These trips are the history’s first deliveries of Russian LNG on the Northern Sea Route without icebreaker support. Moreover, they are opening the beginning of regular deliveries of LNG on the Northern Sea Route, which became possible owing to unique characteristics of LNG-tankers of ice class Arc7 designed by the order of NOVATEK specifically for arctic projects”, as the chairman of the board of NOVATEK Leonid Mikhelson said.
