Unique beauty. “Belaya Zemlya” is presenting nature of Yamal and life of indigenous people

The photo project “Belaya Zemlya” (White Land) by Alexander Romanov is acquainting residents and guests of Tobolsk with unique beauty of the Yamal Peninsula. The exhibition of the winner in the international contest of arctic photos, a member of the Union of Photo-artists of Russia, the Russian geographical society was opened in the hall “Gallery” of the Museum of Management of Siberia - the Palace of the Deputy.

35 works by Alexander Romanov being presented at the exhibition introduce unique beauty of the Yamal Peninsula, amazing and severe nature, as well as everyday life of indigenous peoples of the North, as it is informed in Tobolsk Museum and Reserve. Alexander Romanov is a native of Tyumen, graduated from Tyumen Oil and Gas Institute with the degree of an engineer – geologist – hydro-geologist. Now he works at the enterprise “Gazprom dobycha Yamburg”, combining work with his hobby. He is a participant of photo exhibitions in Japan, Australia, Germany, Slovenia, Bulgaria, China, Norway, the owner of awards of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP- Federation Internationale de l’Art Photographique), he is in the top-100 best photographers of the Arctic.
