Vyborg Shipyard will build two icebreakers for "Gazprom Neft Novy Port"

Vyborg Shipyard will build two multipurpose diesel-electric icebreakers for "Gazprom Neft Novy Port". According to the contract, the customer will receive both ships till 2018.

The icebreakers will work on the arctic terminal of Novoportovskoye field, the Yamal peninsula. As it is informed on the portal portnews.ru, the basic tasks of the ships include icebreaker piloting of tankers, help at conducting of mooring and loading operations, rescue operations, towing of ships, fire fighting, participating in operations on liquidation of oil spills. The ships will be built on the newest project for the ice class providing pass ability in ices up to 2 meters and considerable maneuverability at relatively low draught. The icebreakers will be able to work without interruptions at the temperature up to 50C degrees below zero.
