Yamal and Bashkortostan agreed to promote legislative initiatives

The Parliament of Yamal hosted the official meeting of the chairpersons of the Legislative Assembly of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Sergey Yamkin and of the State Assembly - Kurultay of the Republic of Bashkortostan Konstantin Tolkachev. They discussed issues of further cooperation and aspects of inter-parliamentary cooperation. Support of legislative initiatives of the regions at the federal level will be one of the most important issues.

According to Sergey Yamkin, it is very difficult to promote legislative initiatives being alone. With support from other Russian regions it is much easier. Inter-parliamentary agreements give serious support.

It should be noted that for the first time the agreement between Yamal and Bashkortostan was signed in 1998. The governors of the two subjects of the Russian Federation signed the agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical, social and cultural cooperation between Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Bashkortostan on the 17th of May in 2012. The agreement on cooperation between the State Assembly - Kurultay of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Legislative Assembly of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug was signed on the 7th of June of 2019.

“Each Parliament accumulated its own experience. Constant exchange of information makes it possible to improve legislation. Participation in negotiations allows extrapolating legislative norms, which showed their effectiveness, into practice of the territories. We maintain the common cause – constantly to improve quality of people’s life and to create rules of conduct convenient for them”, said Konstantin Tolkachev.

The delegation of deputies of Yamal has already visited Bashkortostan and got acquainted with life in the Republic. The talk is not only about lawmaking, they studied experience in social sphere and agriculture. The guests from Bashkortostan are getting acquainted with achievements of Yamal in various spheres of life activity.
