Searchers from Yamal are participating in "The Watch of Memory" in Rostov Oblast

Searchers from Yamal went to "The Watch of Memory" to Rostov Oblast.

Search and intelligence work will take place along the line Selo Russkoye – the settlement Petropolye. The participants of the expedition will study fortified areas on the heights of Matveev-Kurgan and Kuybyshev districts. The search expedition will last till the 12th of May.

Battle reports of the armies that had participated in liberation of Matveev-Kurgan and Kuybyshev districts were studied by the results of work with archives. Maps of military burials of soldiers and commanders of the Red Army not transferred to military memorials of these districts were found in lists of irrecoverable losses. Therefore, it was decided to organize the search expedition for finding of non-registered burials. The search detachment "Yamal" under leadership of a specialist of the regional center for patriotic education Sergey Kachan is participating in search of unburied remains of fallen soldiers and unknown military burials. The detachment includes representatives of search groups "Nord S", "Guardians of the memory" and "Patriot". The ceremonial burial of the dead soldiers and immortalization of their memory on the military memorial (№ 5) in the village Petropolye in Matveev-Kurgan district of Rostov Oblast is planned. On the 9th of May the search detachments from Yamal will participate in the Victory Parade in Rostov-on-Don, as the department of youth policy and tourism of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug informs.
