A hundred sports events will wait for active people of Yamal

The day of opening of the summer sports season is marked on the 20th of May in all Russian regions. More than 40 sports events were prepared for this date in Yamal. More than 2500 people are participating in them.

This year the activity initiated by the Ministry for sport of Russia is being conducted under the motto “Ready for labor and defense”. Festivals, competitions on different kinds of sport, tests “GTO” (Ready for labor and defense), track races, sports relay races, family competitions are taking place in all towns and settlements. It is planned that the Day of opening of the summer sports season will become yearly. According to the information given to a correspondent of IA “Sever-Press” in the regional department on physical culture and sport, in total on the territory of the region it is planned to conduct about 100 sports events. The summer festival of GTO, the All-Russian Olympic Day, the All-Russian competitions on street basketball “Orange Ball” are the main events. The completion of the season will be dedicated to the Day of the Physical Culturist, which is marked on the 12th of August. Traditionally it will be conducted as a big sports holiday.
